A's Beauty Spotlight: Dry Shampoo

The other day I woke up in a tizzy. I had slept through my alarm and was running late for work. I quickly jumped in the shower but definitely didn't have the time to wash my hair. I got out and thought, geez, my hair really needs washed but I have no time!! What's a girl to do?!

Two words: Dry Shampoo

The next time this happened to me I was armed and ready with a recent beauty splurge courtesy of my mom: Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo. I was skeptical at first. I'd read a lot about dry shampoo and the idea always scared me a bit. However, all skepticism was put aside after the first few times I used this product. It's amazing. Literally I don't know how I went this long without it. And around $19, it's not too bad of a splurge.

Let me explain. Dry shampoo is not an excuse to not wash your hair when it's dirty. By all means, please continue washing your hair! If you're like me, however, someone with fine hair that needs to wash daily but also colors and doesn't want it to fade, you need options! I wash my hair every other day now and use the dry shampoo in between. It's also great to use after a workout at the gym or if your hair just feels a bit oily due to a lot of product buildup. Try Oscar Blandi -- you won't be disappointed. You can order it online at Sephora.com

To use: Use the tip of the bottle to separate hair into sections, then sprinkle the dry shampoo onto roots (it comes out in a powder form). Massage into hair until it disappears and then brush thoroughly.

A's beauty trick: After brushing, blast hair with a dryer on high for a few seconds to amp up the volume. If necessary, use a flat iron to achieve refreshed hair style.

Other winners: Bumble & Bumble Dry Shampoo -- has anyone tried this? I've heard good things and enjoy B&B's products....

Happy beautifying!
